rsync for vmware 5.5

I created my static rsync on a redhat (centos) 6.x machine.

• 1. yum install -y glibc-static

  2. wget ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:/monkeyiq:/centos6updates/CentOS_CentOS-6/noarch/autoconf-2.69-12.2.noarch.rpm

  3. rpm -U autoconf-2.69-12.2.noarch.rpm

  4. cd ~

  5. mkdir workspace

  6. cd workspace

  7. wget https://download.samba.org/pub/rsync/src/rsync-3.1.2.tar.gz

  8. tar -zxf rsync-3.1.2.tar.gz

  9. cd rsync 3.1.2

  10. ln -s ./popt/popt.h ./popt.h

  11. ./configure –with-included-popt –with-included-zlib

  12. make LIBS=”-Wl,-static -lattr -lacl -Wl,-Bdynamic”

  13. strip ./rsync-static
